ABOUT DYANA

A VOICE FOR THE COMMUNITY

Dyana Forester is a proud DC native, the daughter of a retired DC police officer and a Mexican immigrant father, a graduate of DC Public Schools, and a DCPS parent. For nearly 20 years, she has worked at the intersection of government, labor, and community to negotiate solutions that strengthen DC’s economy while protecting working families. Dyana has played key roles in major citywide initiatives, including DC’s Minimum Wage Increase and Paid Family and Medical Leave, and has served as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner, a Housing Authority Commissioner, and President of the Metro Washington Labor Council. Having lived in nearly every ward, she brings a citywide perspective and a proven ability to bring diverse stakeholders together to deliver practical, lasting results for District residents. Dyana brings a deep, citywide understanding of the challenges facing families, workers, and small businesses across DC.

FIGHTING FOR WORKING FAMILIES DELIVERING REAL RESULTS FOR DC

Dyana Forester, a DC native, public school parent,  leader, and longtime community advocate, is running to make sure Washington, DC works for everyday people, not just the powerful.

Together, we can build a city where families can afford to live, workers earn fair wages, neighborhoods are safe, and every child has a real opportunity to succeed.

A LEADER ROOTED IN DC

A proud DC Native and Ward 7 homeowner. I’ve lived in nearly every ward, raised my family here, and built my career fighting for the people who keep this city running.

I know what it means to work hard, juggle bills, worry about rent, and want better for your children. That’s not a talking point, that’s real life for thousands of families in our city.

And it’s why I’ve spent my life in public service.

PROVEN RESULTS FOR WORKING PEOPLE

Dyana doesn’t just talk about change, she delivers it.

As a community and housing advocate, Dyana has lead campaigns to:

  • Raise wages for working people

  • Passed Paid Family Medical Leave

  • Protect affordable housing

  • Push for safer, stronger neighborhoods

  • Stand up for workers when powerful interests tried to silence them

She has served as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner and Housing Authority Commissioner, always putting residents first and fighting for transparency and accountability.

Leadership isn’t about titles.
It’s about getting results that improve people’s lives.

WHY DYANA

Because she understands DC, not just the politics, but the people.

  • She’s a part of the community

  • She’s fought in the rooms where decisions get made.

  • She’s stood shoulder to shoulder with workers, seniors, and families who just want a fair shot.

This campaign isn’t about insiders. It’s about building a DC where working families can stay, grow, and succeed.
