Dyana Forester is a proud DC native, the daughter of a retired DC police officer and a Mexican immigrant father, a graduate of DC Public Schools, and a DCPS parent. For nearly 20 years, she has worked at the intersection of government, labor, and community to negotiate solutions that strengthen DC’s economy while protecting working families. Dyana has played key roles in major citywide initiatives, including DC’s Minimum Wage Increase and Paid Family and Medical Leave, and has served as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner, a Housing Authority Commissioner, and President of the Metro Washington Labor Council. Having lived in nearly every ward, she brings a citywide perspective and a proven ability to bring diverse stakeholders together to deliver practical, lasting results for District residents.
